Am 21. Mai 2024 um 9 Uhr muss sich ein Aktivisti vor dem AG München dafür verantworten, dass er sich als Teil der bunten Proteste von blockIAA2023 dem „Weiter so“ der Internationalen Automobilausstellung (IAA) entgegengestellt hat und VW aufs Dach gestiegen ist! Die Anklage lautet auf Sachbeschädigung.
Wir rufen dazu auf, den Betroffenen am 21. Mai 2024 gemeinsam mit uns solidarisch bei seinem Prozess zu begleiten. Ab 8:00 Uhr sind wir mit einer Mahnwache vor dem AG München in der Nymphenburger Straße 16 präsent und freuen uns auf euch.

What to do when the earth is burning?
The year 2023 was the hottest year since records began. In the same year, Munich hosted the largest motor show in the world - the International Motor Show (IAA). While this world refuses to stop burning, VW & Co. exhibited their contribution to the climate catastrophe in Munich's most beautiful squares - 2.5 tonnes of steel, lithium and cobalt. At the same time, politicians are watching almost idly as the transport sector crashes the climate targets.
As a climate justice movement, we opposed this ‘business as usual’ approach by the automotive industry and politicians as part of the protests against the IAA 2023. Many courageous activists have shown with colourful actions that there must be a world after the car.

Doch halt! Warum eigentlich der Digitalgipfel? Liegt der Fokus von Sand im Getriebe nicht auf einer sozial-ökologischen Mobilitätswende? Und was soll in dem Kontext eigentlich Neokolonial bedeuten? Eine Einordnung.

Dort heißt es: Schluss mit, auf Profitlogik und einer auf ewigen Wachstum ausgerichteten, Automobilindustrie, welche nach der Interessen der wenigen und nicht den Bedürfnissen aller organisiert ist. Das Auto ist dreckig, ineffizient und steuert uns noch tiefer in die Klimakrise.

The International Car Exhibition was, is and will always be the showroom of the international automobile companies. In times of the #climate crisis, which is already destroying countless livelihoods worldwide, they are trying with all their might to keep an outdated, oversized and resource-guzzling industry alive for a few more years.
We cannot accept this any longer! That is why a broad alliance of different actors calls for various protest actions (demonstrations, actions of mass civil disobedience, small group actions etc.) around the IAA.

We are heading unchecked toward a climate catastrophe – and the car companies continue to press on the gas pedal: more and more cars, ever larger and heavier, are clogging up the roads, taking away the air we breathe and heating up the climate. This has to stop now!
While in Munich from 05-10.09.2023 the car companies try to pull off their sales show, we stand up as part of the climate justice movement for a fair and social mobility turnaround and a stop of the destructive car production! We need immediately a fair, good mobility for all of us, which connects and does not trample all livelihoods. Also we need a production that does not produce cars, but the things that make a good life possible for us: tramways, suburban trains, bicycles, intercity buses, and everything that serves the needs of people instead of profits. Wir brauchen sofort eine gerechte, gute Mobilität für uns alle, die verbindet und sämtliche Lebensgrundlagen nicht mit Füßen tritt.
